Talentware is born
of real experience:

skill-based talent management designed
by people with first-hand experience.

With skills, technology and responsibilities.

Talentware was founded in 2023 within the Venture Studio of Bain & Company. The idea was developed by three former Bain consultants with experience from major multinationals, including Microsoft, Gucci, Ferrero, and Johnson & Johnson. The goal was clear from the outset: to redesign talent management starting with people’s real skills and not their formal roles.

In a world where skills evolve more quickly than organisational structures, we believe that the true competitive advantage lies in the ability to understand, develop, and implement them.

Our vision

Is clear and simple. We imagine organisations where:

This is why we have chosen an AI-boosted, native skill-based approach. Not as part of a tech craze, but as infrastructure for fairer, more sustainable decision making.

Responsible AI, by choice

We believe that innovation and responsibility need to go hand in hand.

Talentware abides by the principles of Trustworthy AI and has signed the EU AI Pact of the European Commission, anticipating the AI Act.

Our AI is designed to be:

Transparent

Transparent
Every suggestion can be tracked and explained.

Inclusive

Built to reduce bias and promote equal opportunities.

Human-centered

AI is a co-pilot. Decisions are made by humans.

Secure and compliant

Full conformity with the GDPR and European data protection laws.

The origins

It was 2023. Three former consultants from Bain - with direct experience in Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, Gucci and Ferrero - found themselves sharing the same frustration: in the organisations they had worked with, people management decisions were slow, often subjective, and almost always based on incomplete or obsolete information. The problem was not a lack of technology; it was that the available technology (HRIS, LMS, ATS) was designed to store data, not to make them useful. People skills were there but they were invisible. They were spread across systems with no dialogue, trapped in annual evaluations, and set in job titles that said nothing about what the person actually knew how to do. The question they asked themselves was simple: what if skills were the starting point of every HR decision instead of secondary information?

Talentware was born within the Venture Studio of Bain & Company to answer that question. Not as an additional tool to be integrated into existing processes but as a native, skill-based platform, designed from the outset to focus on skills, instead of sidelining them.
